Jillina
Acclaimed for her work artistic director for the Bellydance Superstars and choreographer of the Desert Roses, Jillina is a professional dancer with powerful technique and dynamic stage presence.
Mohamed Shahin
Based in Cairo, Mohamed Shahin is an innovative choreographer of Folkloric and Oriental dance. He is a featured master teacher at Raqia Hassan’s Ahlan wa Sahlan Egyptian dance festival, and tours the world teaching and performing his signature whirling dervish dance.
Virginia
Virginia is an award winning belly dancer, exciting performer, and a motivational instructor who has danced for the Saudi Royal Family and who has made various appearances on MTV, VH1, and So You Think You Can Dance.

"Cairo Night Showcase" (Welcome & Gala Show)

SATURDAY JULY 24

"Fusion Oriental " by JILLNA
This workshop combines Oriental movements with modern dance. Ideal for a dramatic entrance, this choreography is set to exciting fusion music. Jillina will be using Egyptian technique with various combinations as well as giving you ideas for improvisation. In this workshop you will learn how to articulate your hips as well as enhance your fluid and lyrical movements.

"Sizzling Combinations" by VIRGINIA
Join Virginia as she expands your vocabulary, giving you an extensive array of combinations set to a variety of rhythms that will give you the necessary tools to take your dancing to a whole new level! This class will break down the rhythms, explain cultural purpose and give you all you need to incorporate these new moves and combos into your next choreography or improvisational show. Some of Virginia’s secret moves and stylistic approaches revealed!

"Modern Pop Baladi” by VIRGINIA
Take your Baladi Beyond the basics…Virginia will share some of Egypt’s hottest moves laced in her signature style. This is a modern baladi pop routine filled with technique, combinations, and Virginia’s personal transitions steps. Throughout the class she will add playful gestures and antedotes that create that pure Egyptian feeling. Translated lyrics included which add depth and meaning to your performance! Suitable for all levels.

Egyptian Shaabi (Cairo Street dancing) by MOHAMED SHAHIN
With its witty lyrics, playful moves and cultural gestures , Egyptian shaabi music and dance is rapidly gaining popularity amongst belly dancers across the globe. Mohamed will teach a funny yet meaningful choreography that will have you coming back for more. Mohamed will breakdown the technique and explain all of the hand gestures in the choreography. He will also provide a translation of the song lyrics.

"Percussive Precision" by JILLINA
Move your hips with intricate precision and embody the spirit of Arabic rhythms. Learn the techniques and drill the combinations to create an exciting and powerful drum solo . Get ready to sweat swirl and shimmy !!
